Quick Trip; Quick Tips

Bonjour Tout le Monde,

Summer has officially started and I am excited to share that I will be going to Europe for a few weeks. It's so crazy to think that it took me three entire years to go back to this place that I love so much. I will be visiting friends who have now become family and I don't know how to contain my excitement. As the countdown begins (t-minus 16 days), I thought I would share some tips and tricks that I used to make this trip possible and smooth.

Also, for those who may be curious as to where I am going... I will be visiting Germany, France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. Now, on to those tips and tricks!

If you all remember a post I wrote a while back titled "Study Abroad: What to Pack", I shared some of the ways that you could prepare for a semester-long study abroad. To be quite honest, I failed miserably at taking my own advice. Hey, if you can manage to put everything into a carry-on, more power to you and I am jealous! I am notorious for over-packing and quite honestly, it is still something that I struggle with. In order to remedy that, one of the best things that you can do is to get a smaller piece of luggage. Sometimes I believe that our mind tricks us into thinking that the bigger the luggage, the more things we need to bring. DO NOT BE TRICKED! I packed way too many items that did not get worn. So, this time around I got a smaller Away luggage and I love it. Let's see if this helps this time around.

Tip # 2: Actually plan your outfits. Put them on and see if you'll actually wear this outfit out. After that, see if you can mix and match various pieces together to make other outfits instead of lugging around eight distinct outfits. It's a great idea to take versatile pieces!

Tip # 3: Use multiple sites to find affordable tickets and if you're in Europe, consider mixing your modes of transportation. For example, I am traveling through planes and trains! Here are some of the links that I tried and found to be most helpful:

And many more. Nonetheless, give yourself enough time to consult more than one site before buying your tickets.

The most important tip of all is to enjoy your trip while you're there. I know we all feel the need to take glamorous pictures and go to super "photo-worthy" places, but, CHILL! Relish the moment and stop worrying about anything else.

I hope some of those tips helped. If you're anything like me then I know that you have read multiple blog posts and tips about what to do when you're about to take a trip. So, I hope that you enjoyed this and look forward to my next few posts when I arrive in Europe!!

Avec amour,
