Study Abroad? Yay or Nay

So, are you thinking about studying abroad but you aren't completely sold on the idea yet? No worries, I was once in the same shoe but now I have decided to JUST DO IT! Studying abroad is not always the easiest thing to do especially if it will be your first experience ever leaving the country. You might also be afraid of leaving your friends and family behind and also fear that you might miss out on experiences in your daily life while you are away.

Trust me, none of that is true.! Studying abroad to me, is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Why do I say that? As we get older, our lives get busier and it becomes a lot more difficult to plan trips, let alone a 5 month trip. Studying abroad is also great because it forces you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Beyond that, you will gain some of the most transferable skills that you can take and use in every aspect of your life whether it be professional, personal, etc.

I decided to study abroad because I wanted the opportunity to see how others think and behave around the world. I also know that the world is becoming a lot more global and I wanted to experience what it would be like to work, live, and interact with people who do not come from the same place as me. I am going to Belgium, Brussels in the spring and I couldn't be more excited.

I decided to start a Study Abroad:101 series to document my journey starting from deciding to go abroad and then navigating my way through the process and finally getting there and enjoying the trip. So, if you would like to study abroad or just want to experience Belgium through my posts and pictures, keep reading and stay tuned for more!
